CONCRETE MODIFICATION

We Have the Skills for Your Construction, Renovation and Remodeling Projects

Shot blasting is similar to sand blasting, but it uses steel shot. The advantage of shot blasting is that it is much cleaner and recycles the blast medium. Abrasive blasting is a cost-effective and environmentally safe way to remove dirt, paint, coatings and other contaminants from floor surfaces while providing a suitable profile for proper bonding for new floor coatings.

Concrete Scarfire, Plaining & Leveling

Scarification is used to grind high spots off concrete and remove tough flooring systems, including epoxy surfaces and urethane elastomeric systems.

Typical Scarification/Plaining Applications:
  • Epoxy
  • Mastics
  • Concrete
  • Paint
  • Epoxy line removal
  • Inlay traffic lines

IWS also has Concrete plainer that is customizable to mill grooves from ¼” wide to unlimited widths. This is used often to recess steel channel into factory floors for our client’s processes.

Concrete bursting is typically used for cracking deep sections of concrete where conventional breaking techniques would be arduous and time consuming. Bursting heads are placed in pre-drilled holes and are expanded under hydraulic pressure to produce cracks, effectively splitting the structure into smaller sections for removal.

Concrete bursting is also an ideal method when vibration and noise is prohibited, i.e. within or adjacent to occupied dwellings, historic buildings, or structures especially sensitive to vibration.

  • Emission free 110V or 3-phase operation
  • ‘Burster’ heads are inserted into pre-drilled holes to break large areas of concrete
  • Bursting pressures of up to 2120 tons
Typical applications include:
  • Foundations
  • Pillars
  • Bearers
  • Concrete walls

60″ Rock/Frost Saw

The IWS 60″ Rock/Frost saw uses a carbide tipped blade mounted to a riding power unit. This unit is primarily used for demolition cutting.

Typical applications include:
  • Non-reinforced concrete
  • Rock
  • Stone
  • Frost

The IWS concrete surface preparation division is a high demand service needed during many construction, renovation and remodeling projects. With a vast array of preparation equipment, we have been able to make vital contributions to many construction planning and completion projects, offering solutions that allow for resurfacing instead of a demolition – saving our clients thousands. Our dust containment system allows us to operate our equipment in a dust-free environment.
